Care to Share and Help Us Give $1,000 Each Month to Charity
We think it's important to care for the communities we serve, and the charities that serve us in return. In 2010/2011, AtlasCare donated $1,000 per month to one charity located in either Toronto, Mississauga, Oakville, or any place within the AtlasCare service area.
There are many worthwhile causes doing important work. It was important to us that we included not only the larger, better-known charities, but also the smaller local causes that included fundraising and charity events in Toronto, Mississauga, Oakville, or anyplace within the AtlasCare service area. By allowing community members to nominate the charities close to their hearts, we helped ensure a wide range of needs were met. Of course, we will continue to support organizations currently part of our charitable giving program . This initiative was intended to diversify how we help in the community.
Whether a small grassroots fundraiser, a charity, local fundraiser, community event, or the local office of a national non-profit organization, there was no cause too big or too small to be eligible. Nominees simply needed to be a registered charity with the funds being spent to support the community within AtlasCare's service area. Please note that funds were not used to support relief efforts overseas - our intention was to support local initiatives.
